RCB finished on high making SRH’s playoff chances tough!

In a must win game against the poor performers of the season, Sunrisers Hyderabad failed to beat RCB at Chinnaswamy. Yet last, RCB skipper Virat Kohli won the toss after 9 matches and chose to bowl on a batting friendly pitch. SRH went off to flier as Guptil and Saha teared the Bangalore’s bowling apart.

After the openers departed, SRH continued to lose regular wickets. Captain Kane Williamson stood on the other side taking everything upon his shoulders and scored a brilliant 70 off 43 runs. Umesh Yadav once again failed in the 20th over giving 28 runs away that provided formidable 175 runs on the board for the visitors.

Bangalore chasing a below par score on the track went off to a disastrous start as they lost Kohli, Parthiv and Ab Deviliers for just 20 runs. Then came West Indies’ destructive leftie Shirmon Hetmeyer and rise on to the occasion proving his worth in this match. He attacked the mighty Rashid Khan too and hit at least a maximum in his quota of 4 overs. Gurkeerat Mann provided the support for Hetmeyer who has hit 6 sixes alone in the innings.

Both Gurkeerat and Hetmetyer scored the half centuries before departing. SRH looked like to pull out a miracle in the final overs taking some quick wickets but Umesh has hit the winning boundaries with ease to seal the 5th win for RCB in the tournament. Now, SRH need Mumbai to defeat KKR in Wankhade to qualify for playoffs. If it happens, Hyderabad becomes the first team to qualify for playoffs with just 12 points. Shirmon hetmeyer was awarded the ‘Man of the match’ for his blazing 75 off 47 balls.
