Hanumantha Rao fights with local Congress leader

On Saturday, Congress veteran V. Hanumantha Rao and a local party leader entered into a scuffle and exchanged blows during a public event. It’s been reported that the fight started over the seating arrangement at the protest.

Opposition parties  (Left, Telugu Desam Party, Congress and others) called for a protest against the govt of K Chandrashekhar Rao-led Telangana Rashtra Samithi.

The protest was organized to fight the supposed irregularity in the outcomes of the Intermediate board results.

RC Khuntia, AICC Secretary General for Telangana Affairs, was to take part in the protest at Indira Park. However, Nagesh Mudiraj, one of the PCC spokespersons, attempted to occupy Khuntia’s seat. Hanumantha Rao objected and Hanumantha Rao hit Nagesh. Their altercation took a severe turn and both of them exchanged blows before pulling each other to the ground.

Other leaders present there had to intervene to get the situation under control.

V Hanumantha Rao is a veteran Congress leader who had served as a Union minister. He was also the president of the Congress’s Andhra Pradesh unit.
