Modi offers prayers and addresses people in Tirupati

After his first two-day trip to Maldives and Sri Lanka, Prime Minister Narendra Modi landed at the temple town of Tirupati in Andhra Pradesh on Sunday night to offer prayers to Lord Venkateswara.

Andhra Pradesh Governor E.S.L. Narasimhan, Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, Union Minister of State for Home G. Kishan Reddy, State Ministers, leaders of the BJP and officials welcomed him to the nearby Renigunta Airport.

PM Modi addressed public before offering prayers and echoed BJP’s stand to serve the people around the clock and not just during the elections.

“The BJP cadre is not election machinery, we don’t serve people only around the elections, we are with the people of the country in their moments of happiness and sorrow, we are the organisation that is committed towards building this nation”,  PM Modi said. 

Congratulating state’s new Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy over his landslide victory, PM Modi said, “I want to give my best wishes to Jaganmohan Reddy ji, he too will take Andhra Pradesh forward, I want to assure that Indian govt will always be there for the people of Andhra.”
