The Congress party in Telangana is setting its eyes on winning the municipal elections in a big way.
The core committee of Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) met on June 22 to discus about the preparation for the municipal elections in Telangana state.
TPCC president N. Uttam Kumar Reddy opined that the party must fight to win the municipal polls this time.
Mr. Reddy demanded that the State government reserve 34 % of the seats for the backward classes, including Muslims (BC-E), as per the law.
Sources say that the meeting of all the PCC office bearers and DCC Chiefs would be held on June 29 at Nagarjunasagar to prepare for the civic polls.
A three-member committee comprising of TPCC working president Ponnam Prabhakar, AICC secretaries, A. Sampath Kumar and Ch Vamshichand Reddy, have been appointed to oversee the party’s strategy for municipal elections.
