Three Telangana police stations have been ranked among the country’s top 50 in a Ministry of Home Affairs report. Narayanapur Police Station under Rachakonda Police Commission was ranked 14th, while the Chintapalli Police Station in Nalgonda was ranked 24th and the Bejjanki Police Station in Siddipet was ranked 41st.
The ranking of the police stations was determined based on two categories–80% performance metrics and 20% of police station infrastructure and citizen feedback, mainly aspects of crime against women and SC/STs and property-related offences were considered.
After a detailed survey of the police stations in the country, the ranks were declared.
Kalu in Rajasthan district of Bikaner secured first place while Campbell bay ranked second in Nicobar district and Farakka in West Bengal district of Murshidabad secured third place.
The aim of the survey was to establish a system for measuring performance annually add training to instill a habit of regular utilize and maintain data on crime and criminal tracking network system by all police stations.
