KTR expresses disappointment for ignoring Telangana in union budget

On Saturday, TRS working president KTR expressed his disappointment at the central government’s ignorance of Telangana state in its budget.

KTR reminded that Government of India failed to allocate Rs 24,000 crore to state government flagship programmes, Mission Kakatiya and Mission Bhagiratha though NITI Aayog lauded the programmes.

He also claimed that though Telangana State had repeatedly requested national project status for either Kaleshwaram or Palamuru Ranga Reddy Lift Irrigation Project, there was no mention or even recognition of the state’s two flagship projects.

Are Telangana’s projects not in the interest of our nation?,” he asked the Union Finance Minister.

KTR futher accused the Central govt of not honouring the promises made in the AP Reorganisation Act even after five years of the State formation.

“Integrated steel plant at Bayyaram, rail coach factory at Warangal, tribal university etc – Why this indifference to a promising young State?,” he asked. He said there had been no support for Kakatiya Mega Textile Park, Information Technology Investment Region for Hyderabad, and also pharmaceutical and life sciences sector in Hyderabad, which are three important sectors for the State.
