For the second time Kohli and Williamson leading their sides in WC Semis

Stop scratching your heads. By the way, you read it right. We all know that Virat Kohli-led India and Kane Williamson-led New Zealand will clash in 2019 World Cup semi-final today.

Interestingly, Virat Kohli-led India had defeated Kane Williamson-led New Zealand by three wickets (DLS method) in the semi-final of 2008 Under-19 World Cup. After more than 11 years, the duo will be again at the forefront having led from the front admirably for the senior team. What a journey by this veteran batsmen all these years !

Here is another interesting news as in that match, Kohli had dismissed Williamson for 37(80), while he himself scored 43 runs off 53 balls. Kohli is a part time wrist spinner who left bowling a while ago due to his back issues has dismissed one of the best batsmen in the world 11 years back.

Recalling captaining India in 2008 Under-19 World Cup semi-final against Kane Williamson-led New Zealand, India captain Virat Kohli said, “When we meet tomorrow, I’ll remind him.” “It’s nice to realise 11 years after, we’re captaining our respective nations again in senior World Cup.” “Neither me nor him could have ever anticipated that one day this will happen,” he further said.
