Indian cricketer MS Dhoni may enter politics once he retires from cricket. MS Dhoni is expected to join Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) before Jharkhand assembly elections.
The speculation about Dhoni joining the BJP before elections began with former union minister and Jharkhand leader Sanjay Paswan. Paswan said,’ There has been a lengthy debate on this subject, although this decision will only be taken after his retirement.” Dhoni is my friend, he is a world-famous player and there have been debates about getting him into the fold of the party,’ added Paswan.
Dhoni was one of the few celebrities before the general elections that BJP chief Amit Shah met last year during the program ‘ Sampark for Samarthan.’ Dhoni may also be Jharkhand state’s chief ministerial candidate for BJP.
Dhoni is the only captain to have won all three main ICC trophies in cricket history. India has won the 2007 T20 World Cup, the 2011 World Cup and the 2013 Champions Trophy under Dhoni’s captaincy. Dhoni also led India to triumphs in the Asia Cup in 2010 and 2016.
